Benton County, Oregon Biographies





HERREN BRYANT-Was born in Garrett county, Kentucky, in 1824. When he was nine years of age his parents moved to Missouri where our subject lived until spring of 1853, when he, with his wife and one child, crossed the plains to Oregon, and first settled in Lane county. In 1862 he came to Benton county and purchased his present farm and built the well known Vaquina House, located six miles east of Little Elk postoffice, where he is engaged in general farming and stock raising.
