EDWIN B. JENKINS, a prominent and successful broker of Pittsburg, Pa., was born in Kingwood, W. Va., Sept. 16,
1868, and is the son of William M. and Elizabeth (Gibson) Jenkins. His education was acquired in the common schools
of his native town. When he was twenty years of age he came to Pittsburg and went into business with his uncle,
Marshall L. Jenkins, in the oil trade. Edwin Jenkins was elected a member of the oil exchange in the fall of 1889,
and continued a member until the exchange went out of existence. He then engaged in business as a broker in stocks
and grain in Pittsburg, under the firm name of E. B. Jenkins & Co., in which he is at present. In November,
1892, the firm was incorporated with a capital stock of $100,000. On Feb. 12, 1893, Mr. Jenkins was married to
Miss A. Lora Crumrine, a daughter of Valentine Crumrine, of Beallsville, Pa. To this marriage two daughters - Helen
and Gertrude - have been born, both girls still in school. Mr. Jenkins is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church
of the East End, Pittsburg.
